After establishing themselves in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven over the past few years Twinfish recently received national recognition as a Top Ten finalist in the acoustic category of the Music Oz competition as well as being voted in as one of the Top six bands in the Shoalhaven. Their popularity in the artsy community of Jervis Bay has been further confirmed this year with the choice of their song “ Surrender” as the official theme song for the hugely successful “ SEE CHANGE Winter Arts festival. Their second EP "Happy Accidents" was launched at the Husky Pub on Sat 29th November, 2003. Joining Tracy and Marco Verdugo and Nick Guggisberg on stage at the launch was Jim Hilbun ,10 year member of one of Australia's greatest bands " The Angels." Jim has been working closely with the band over the past 2 years producing the new EP and has become something of an honorary Twinfish member, escaping the big smoke for the pristine shores of Jervis Bay and joining the band on stage at several recent gigs. Reluctant to categorise their style Twinfish fuses lush acoustic guitar with an eclectic mix of tabla, marimba and drums, with the vocals of Tracy Verdugo distinctly reminiscent of those of Harriet Wheeler from Brit band ”The Sundays” |
