gilli moon, based in Los Angeles, is a recording artist from Australia who has exploded on the scene recently with her third album ‘Woman’ and her first book, a handbook for artists, called ‘I Am A Professional Artist - The Key To Survival and Success in the World of the Arts’. Her artistry inspires other artists, in her commitment as an independent artist in the new music revolution. Recently she won Best Solo Artist at the Rockies Awards LA, winning over male and female performers including Vonda Shephard (Ali McBeal). gilli moon recently opened for Simple Minds in Phoenix, and was also just interviewed alongside Aimee Mann in Music Connection Magazine for her success in the indie music scene. She conducts seminars to hundreds of songwriters at a time about “doing it the indie way”, talking about indie record production, distribution and promotion, touring, developing a fan base, image development and general success and survival as an indie artist. She believes in the concept of a new revolution in the music industry on the streets with the indie scene and has been dubbed “indie queen of LA”. Known for her chameleon qualities, gilli moon delivers sensuous songs on piano, and when with band, the Blue Warriors, often energizes the stage with splashes of paint on a glass canvas, a movement she has ignited in Hollywood called 'SensuArt'. gilli moon continues to tour the US, Australia and soon Europe, continuing her One Woman Show. Her record label and publishing company, Warrior Girl Music, has not only released her albums, but is home to other artists and songwriters from as far away as France and Finland. She is also the president of Songsalive! a non-profit organization supporting songwriters, and just executive-produced the inaugural Songsalive! Expo at UCLA in Sept 2002, hosting nearly 1000 attendees from all fields of the music industry. |
