Over the past years, singer/songwriter/guitarist John Botica has been jointly responsible for numerous extremely unique and original Australian bands and has actively involved himself in an ocean of diverse musical styles ranging from blistering heavy rock (bands such as Ironheart and the Labrats) to recording and appearing on stage with the late and legendary American songster Tiny Tim! John has appeared on 8 albums, performed in the UK and Germany, and has twice toured South East Asia, promoting an album with Good Time Charlie. After around 10 years of appearing on stage and in studio as a hired guitarslinger to ex members of AC/DC and the Masters Apprentices among others, John eventually decided that he should go it alone, formed the first line-up of his band John Botica's Alibi in August 2000, and recorded his debut solo album ‘Between the Shadows’ (available on Laughing Outlaw Records). Between the Shadows is a good indicator of the diverse musical range of this rather eclectic Australian musician. Although normally regarded an electric guitarist, John has recently began showcasing an acoustic delivery of his original works with the help of his good friend, ex Widowed Isis violinist Marvin Druid, with whom he’s had an ongoing musical association since 1993. |
