Originally from Brisbane, Vic has been writing songs and playing at folk festivals for over 15 years. Folk musician, singer/songwriter and entertainer, Vic is a well-rounded performer. After running her own theatre company, writing songs for theatre troupes, hanging out at folk festivals and writing children’s songs, she has now settled into her first love; writing contemporary folk music. Vic is not just a songwriter but also an accomplished and innovative interpreter of songs. With a broad range of singing styles and a wide repertoire she is a welcome performer in many settings. Vic’s best asset is her voice – a crossover of Rickie-Lee Jones and Joni Mitchell, her heartfelt delivery is polished and exceptional. Her influences include Shane MacGowan, Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush, Kev Carmody as well as many songwriting friends. A background in professional theatre sports and event management gives Vic the gift-of-the-gab on stage and the organisational skills to pull off more complex performances involving multimedia, and cross-promotional ideas. |
