Miles From Nowhere are a band on the brink of success. Having spent years building a loyal and passionate following across Australia and Germany with their energetic performances and pitch-perfect harmonies, this strikingly original four-piece from Brisbane is now poised to claim a stake on the charts.

Miles From Nowhere consists of Daniel Carter, Chris Dillon, Jeff 'Kidd' Reeves and Michael Grabbe. Their trademark vocal flair - powerful vocals and astonishing harmonies - combined with catchy melodies and a driving rhythm sets Miles From Nowhere apart from the crowd of other rock performers. Musically, the band come from acoustic, folk and rock traditions explored through current pop/rock trends. To these rich talents add the ability to compose brilliant, powerful original songs across these genres and it quickly becomes clear how Miles From Nowhere have already sold more than 13,000 copies of their three compact disc releases to date.

Miles From Nowhere enjoy a stellar reputation as one of this country's best live bands, courtesy of many years of hard work throughout the country. From small country-town pubs to packed arenas (ANZ Stadium Rugby League State of Origin and the 'Gabba for International Cricket) and corporate gigs (the July 2000 launch of Virgin Blue) the band have performed in countless venues to all crowd sizes.

And it is not just in Australia that Miles From Nowhere are revered live performers - from August to October 2000 the group were the showcase band at the Australian pavilion at World Expo 2000, held in Hanover, Germany. Miles From Nowhere were even chosen, due to their immense popularity, to perform the official Expo hymn 'Moment of Glory' (written by The Scorpions) alongside the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra at the Closing Ceremony of the World Expo 2000 before a live audience of 13,000 and an estimated television audience of 80 million viewers throughout Germany and Europe. This tour was followed up with triumphant London shows at The Walkabout and Redback Taverns. More recently, the band have made guest performances for the Guangzhou International Spring Ball in Guangzhou, China, as well as headlined the tenth birthday celebrations for the Shangri La Hotel in Hong Kong.

Miles From Nowhere's original songs ‘Shimmering Blue’ and ‘Central Park’ have achieved critical and commercial success in both Australia and Germany. The songs, produced by Steve Scanlon (Tina Arena, Vanessa Amorosi, Five) have a hit sound, and Australian radio quickly caught on to the power of Shimmering Blue and the magic of Central Park, receiving frequent airplay on ABC national throughout the country, as well as thebasement.com and the Ausmade program on Austereo's B105 FM, amongst many others.

"They're one of those 'don't fit in / won't be easy to break / will be enormous when they do break' kind of bands." UK TipSheet Aug 01
