What can you say about Transtar that has not already been said? They are a truly great up and coming band. Describing themselves as “modern atmospheric pop rock” this versatile five-piece band have been gracing Australia’s stages for a good two years already, honing and evolving their sound and style. Biding their time, they have just released their debut album, ‘People Against The Sea’ to rave reviews. Recorded at Sydney’s Paradise Studios under the guidance of ARIA award winning producer Wayne Connolly of You Am I, Powderfinger and Silverchair fame, the disc serves to highlight not only the scope and diversity but also the immense talent of this blossoming act. Constant gigging and touring is now establishing them a well-earned reputation as one of this country’s finest live experiences, opening the eyes and ears of many an instant fan. The sound revolves around the vision of talented singer/songwriter Wade Jackson whose onstage charm, world-class vocals and deft guitar work only serve to highlight the incredible depth of his composition skills. Songs you can feel – a marketer’s dream. Their classic yet unique arrangements are tastefully embellished by the eclectic keyboard work of Darren Lane and dynamic guitar work of Simon Armstrong, both accomplished harmony singers. The aural sensation is completed by the rock-solid yet nuance-laden rhythm section of bassist Danny Richardson and skinsman, Nathan Handley. These boys are in for the long haul and one can only guess what lofty heights their talent, dedication and professionalism will take them to. As Molly would surely say, “do yourselves a favour…” get on the ground floor while you still can. |
