Dusker is the result of a collaboration between Dee Hamilton and Jacob Sewell. Both moved to Sydney in 2000 to commence a Music and Media Studies degree, and met through their shared interests in music. The acoustic duo began sharing songwriting duties in university band The Geisha Plan and decided to continue the partnership when the band folded in late 2001. Combining intricate guitar licks with strong melodies and observant lyrics, Dusker has the ability to go from moody contemplative folk to moments of fun thumping roots to the power of raw alternative rock within minutes. Their influences span from Gomez and Tom Waits to Ben Folds and Stone Temple Pilots. Having spent the last year or so writing new passionate material, they are now ready to stop talking about themselves in third person and start reaching out to Australian audiences. |
