Ken Stewart started the Urban Guerillas in his home town of Adelaide and over many years has kept the outfit gigging and touring around Australia whilst working on other musical projects, including a children’s pop opera which saw him nominated for the APRA Children’s Song of the Year in 1993. Writing songs that relate directly to social changes as they happen finds the Urban Guerillas performing at many rallies and demonstrations including on the docks for the MUA, on Cockatoo Island for the CFMEU, Greenpeace, ACF, Wilderness Society, Rock Against Racism, Rock Against the Reactor, Rock for Refugees and at the recent Walks Against the War. The Urban Guerillas are currently gigging around Sydney acoustically, but mostly as a full band. |
