Alexis Hart delivers original, passionate music in an emotive and dynamic style. Her unplugged EP is the result of collaborating with Rex Goh of Air Supply/Savage Garden fame. Her raw honesty, vivid imagery and the simplicity of the music combine to make a powerful debut. No stranger to the stage, Alexis began her career at age 4 with Johnny Young and has since worked with many of the luminaries of the music world. Her first recording was with Mushroom Records who signed two original tracks for ‘Into the Groove’ followed by a single with Central Station Records for the 1993 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, ‘Our Way’. Next came ‘Lullabies for Lazybones’, a laidback acoustic album of contemporary classics and jazz standards. A true entertainer, Alexis Hart has performed at major awards ceremonies including the ARIAs and Coca Cola Awards, appearing alongside artists such as David Dixon and Merril Bainbridge and she was also a dancer in Peter Andre’s video ‘Funky Junky’. In her spare time, Alexis is a session vocalist for a number of the biggest selling international dance labels (Nukleuz, Tidy Trax, Tripoli Trax, Y2K) and these recordings have regularly appeared in the UK dance charts and have been spun by no less than six of the world’s top 100 DJs. Her recent single with Zander, ‘What’s Up’, signed to Universal Music, was licensed to 22 territories and has rotation with Nova 969 and 2DayFM amongst others. Recently she has co-written and recorded with the producers of Candy Dulfer’s latest album on an urban jazz project that is currently in the midst of a label bidding war in the UK. With her success so far though, it’s still all about the music as she gathers material ready for the release of her album in early 2005. |
