Rob Bunt and Timo Tolvanen have been playing together for over 10 years and have an almost “brotherly” understanding of each other’s singing and playing styles. They have recently been joined by talented singer/songwriter and guitarist, Jeff Flood, who has extensive experience in Australia and Europe and has added extra dimension to Strum’s unique sound. Strum won the inaugural TIARA award for the best duo/group in 1998 and achieved a Top 10 placing in the Golden Guitars in 2000. They have garnered great reviews in Australia and overseas with their first CD ‘Distant Rain’, and their song, ‘Cane Fire’, has received extensive video and airplay. Cane Fire was also featured on an episode of ‘Our Country’ on Channel 9. Strum has been playing live regularly in NSW, mainly in and around Sydney and have a loyal following. They have also made regular trips to Tamworth in recent years where they have played several shows, including the Hats Off to Tamworth festival with the legendary Crosby Sisters. Strum is currently recording a new CD with renowned producer Roger Corbett. The album will be released in June 2003. |
