Many forms of gifted independent artists are expected to deliver their heart and souls worth of self-expression these days in questionable circumstances. An inspired showcase and respected background of musical integrity is what is required to take control over the usual estate of blank expression! Musicians will know well the sweet lack of integrity I speak of. Music is a gift that keeps us all intrigued and this week I witnessed that gift alive and in full splendour live at Sydney’s The Basement. Although a stream of live venues are beginning to claw their way back to what was once a thriving pastime we are yet to realise the sense of live music community felt during the early ’90s angst.

A shining ray has managed to emerge of late and evolve with a considerable skill in reviving Sydney’s live music family: Club Acoustica brings a fine supporting cast of musical relationships to an honest and popular live circuit.

A well presented live music experience offering a new birth of Australian talent. Club Acoustica has begun to evoke a stream of fresh, innovative and well-nurtured musicians to centre stage. Envisage the likes of Jeff Duff, Steve Balbi, Floyd Vincent, Mick Thomas, Brendan Gallagher, Lior, Jodi Martin, Brett Hunt, King Curly, Jackie Bristow and Joseph Calderazzo gracing the stage as part of an inspirational mix of talent and you are in for a nite of pure indulgence.

Club Acoustica is undoubtedly responsible for much of the originality and for the unusual live qualities that provide the scene with its wonderfully diverse flavour. The Club Acoustica circuit is a most interesting and vibrant atmosphere, it's good to see something as fresh and original as this, and something us Melbournians would relish but are left to envy!
