02-09-2002 Club Acoustica

Honestly I'm beginning to feel like a broken record 'cause week after week I'm blown away by the acts that come through our doors and last week was no exception. Kat Frankie had my jaw to the floor as she delivered one of the strongest performances I've seen. Not only that, she packed the place out! I was so blown away I stood there shaking my head thinking 'what a find!'. She was followed by the antics of Peppermint Tea - my good friends Nigel Date and John Maddox - entertained the audience with their blend of acoustic jazz tunes and kazoo solos allowing the crowd to chill and enjoy something different. Sascha Klave played and sang his very own Delta Blues music full of enough slide and grit to fool you into thinking you were in the south. Lizzy Ray (Canada) also sang the gritty blues and kept us all glued to our seats as we kicked back and enjoyed what turned out to be a bit of a blues fest. Emma Driver graced us with her humorous outlook on life, performing witty and well crafted songs that had the crowd laughing. A must to catch Emma's show. The night was capped with our very own Beej accompanied by Eddie (guitarist for Lizzie) doing his rendition of Eminem's 'Without Me', proving that Eminem and 12 bar blues can actually work! All in all, as usual, it was a great night.

This week's show is a must!! to catch with Butterfly 9, Luke O'Shea & Strange Coloured Days to name a few. Hope to see you there!!
