A true music innovator, Van Morrison’s songwriting muse has produced well over 20 studio albums and landed him the status of lyrical visionary. Undoubtedly one of the greatest singer/songwriters of all time the Belfast-born balladeer has penned timeless classics such as ‘Gloria’, ‘Domino’, ‘Baby Please Don’t Go’, ‘Have I Told You Lately’, ‘Moondance’, ‘Wild Night’, ‘Days Like These’, ‘And It Stoned Me’ and ‘Here Comes The Night’; and has traversed blues, jazz, folk, country, skiffle, roots and rock with ease in his extraordinary career. The September 2003 release of his latest album ‘What's Wrong With This Picture’ proves definitively that the master is far from a spent force. Performed by an awesome array of Sydney’s finest singers including Brett Hunt, Karl Broadie, Amanda Easton, Jodee Maree, Yolanda Thomas and Justin Bull, and taking the opportunity to introduce to The Basement stage Nicolette Kenny, Mandi Jarry and Liam Whan.
